Welcome to my Madness Site!

I first encountered Madness when I was about seven years old. I had just moved from Ireland to Holland and always watched Top Pop (the Dutch version of Top Of The Pops). I remember the first time I ever saw them and I will never forget it. They were playing "Baggy Trouwsers" live on stage and it sounded great. I thought it was some kind of childrens music. It was different and best off all: it was Fun. (and isn't that what Madness is all about!) I asked my mum if she'd get me the record becuase I realy liked "Baggy Trousers". So She went out and got me the Absolutely album. Later I saw the video clip belonging to the song and I fell in love with Madness. I loved playing with my Lego and listnig to Madness. That was one hell of a combination! Madness kept me happy till I was about 13. I had just about all their records and tapes and then I lost interest. Somehow I thought Madness was childish and as I was growing up I started listening to crap.

When I was 18 people started to play Madness again in Holland. And then I realised that all the lyrics that the nutty boys had written were not only meant for children. (eventhough they sounded silly at the time, so they were great for kids). They dealt with adult stuff (My girl is a good example) and the music was brilliant. I got all the records out of the cupboard again and started playing them again. I had really missed Madness. That was for sure!

I looked around on the internet for Madness related sites and I couldn't find one. I decided I'd devote some of my precoius time into building a website dedicated to Madness. It took quite some time to get the site on the net because I never really got on with it. Finally the day I put the site on the internet I find that Robert Hazelby had put up the noe legendary Madness Mailing list and that there are at least half a dozen other Madness related sites. Oh well, that doesn't matter at all, cause together we provide Madness fans all around the world with information, news and personal views on Madness.

Some of the visitors here ask me: "What the bollox has the strange green border all over your Madness site got to do with Madness Mate?" Well it's like this. I like the blue skinned beast so I decided to give the site a blue skinned texture. I didn't like the site in blue so I was messing around with the colour filters and decided that green looked better. I suppose that's Madness in it's own kind of way.

Finally, after about one and a half years, I've found some time to program the Questionnaire script for the questions on the back of the "Keep Moving Album. Please do this questionnaire. The guest book has been up and running quite some time now. I really love to see who visits my Madniverse, so please keep signing the page! The Madness Jukebox is also up so please take a look.
